Privacy Policy

We respect your privacy. We only collect the data needed for the app to work properly, and we never sell your data or show ads.

Data we collect

• Email and username to create your account.
• Encrypted password (we never store it in plain text).
• Preferences such as language, light/dark mode, and accent color.
• Optional profile information: bio, social links, and zodiac sign (we do not request your date of birth).
• User-generated content: reviews, lists, favorites, likes, and images you upload.
• Basic technical information: operating system, device model, and a device identifier used only to manage linked devices. This data is used solely for maintenance and security purposes.
• Push notification token, only if you choose to enable notifications.
• Gallery access permission, used only to upload a profile image, upload list cover images, or save share cards to your device.
• When importing your library from Goodreads via CSV: the CSV file is processed only to import your books and is not stored after processing.

How we use your data

• To create and maintain your account.
• To display your content and personalize your profile.
• To enable social features such as follows and likes.
• To send relevant notifications if you enable them.
• To moderate content and maintain a safe community environment.
• To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from authorities when required.

External services we use

• Resend — email delivery (account verification, password recovery, account deletion confirmation, and important service communications).
• Cloudinary — image storage.
• NSFW content checking service — used only to detect inappropriate profile images (we plan to discontinue this service soon).

We do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.

Your rights

• Access your personal data.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Request a portable copy of your data.
• Object to certain types of processing.

You can delete your account from the app at Account → Settings → Delete Account, or from this site under Contact → Delete My Account. You may always email us at support@byndleapp.com if you need assistance.

Data retention

If you delete your account, we erase your data within 24 hours (up to 7 days in exceptional situations). Unverified accounts may be automatically removed after approximately 21 days.

Minors

Byndle is available from age 13+ on iOS and 18+ on Android. Accounts below the minimum age will be removed.

Security

We protect your data using encrypted passwords and secure HTTPS communication. However, no system is perfect. We recommend using a unique password and securing your device.
